To participate in this course, Georgia hygienists must provide proof that you have completed a local anesthesia certification course meeting the Georgia Board of Dentistry's minimum requirement of 60 hours of coursework comprised of 30 didactic hours, 15 laboratory hours, and 15 clinical hours or completed a course through a CODA-accredited program. After enrollment, you will be asked to submit one of the following:

• Certificate of completion from a local anesthesia certification course that reflects the hours of coursework completed and meets the Georgia Board of Dentistry's requirements, or
• Transcript from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program reflecting successful completion of a local anesthesia course, or
• A signed letter from your hygiene program confirming completion of a CODA-accredited local anesthesia course

Please Note: Documentation submitted must clearly reflect the hours of coursework completed if it was not through a CODA-accredited program. This is the same documentation you should retain in your personal records should the Georgia Board of Dentistry ever audit your qualifications to administer local anesthesia.
